That sound you just heard was a P51 Mustang going over - Low.

Carl Gwartney flew this plane (only larger) into Holland during the invasion. As far as can be determined this is the only perfect scale model of an actual CG4 troop carrying glider as used in the Market Garden operation. This was dangerous business. It took him three weeks to make his way thru German lines and into Belgium where he could bum a ride back to England. They all thought him a goner.

This guy had better bail out. He must be in the hanger.

This beautiful Douglas DC-3 was "rekitted" a few minutes later. One engine failed on landing and it snap rolled into the pavement. All that is left is the picture.

RIGHT

This guy is hanging by his teeth. Maybe he is the same idiot who couldn't get out of the plane before it flew into the hangar.

Ron Kriege, VP of the First Weedwacker Aerosquadron owns this beauty. His wife, Donna is a fully accomplished model aircraft flyer AND a beautician. She is mighty pretty too.

 RIGHT

This gorgeous model was seen at the Palomar scale fly-in this fall (2000). The Palomar fliers are all superb scale builders. These planes must be seen to be believed.

This magnificent scale model of a WWI Fokker D7 was built by Ray Menegus and was originally flown with electric power. It has now been converted to alcohol (gas) and flys just the way the Red Baron wants it to fly.
